LumaTech™ - what makes our Bandage special.

LumaTech™ - what makes our Bandage special.

Support healing on the go.

Powered by cutting-edge LumaTech™ technology, the Koanna® Bandage brings the benefits of red and infrared light therapy directly to your joints.

The pad's flexible design wraps comfortably around your knee, elbow, ankle, or calf. Lightweight and cordless, it offers targeted relief wherever you go.

Science backed red light technology.

The Koanna® LumaTech™ uses a scientifically proven combination of red and infrared light. When applied to the skin, the visible red and invisible infrared lightwaves penetrate your tissues at different depths.

This not only increases blood flow to the affected area, but also stimulates mitochondria to produce more energy (ATP) in your cells. That boost can help you reduce inflammation, soothe pain, and promote tissue healing for faster recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

"I've already tried creams, braces, physio. Why would this be any different?"

Because everything you've tried so far stops at the same point: the surface.

Ibuprofen switches off the pain signal — the inflammation in the joint keeps running. Cortisone injections work in the short term — but weaken the tissue over time. Standard braces compress your knee — but do nothing therapeutically. Hot water bottles relax the skin — they don't reach where the pain begins.

The Koanna® Red Light Wrap works differently. Red light (660 nm) reaches the surface tissue. Infrared light (850 nm) goes deeper — into the joint itself. Both wavelengths stimulate energy production in your cells. The result: better circulation, less inflammation, faster repair. Not by numbing. By activating.

Simon, Koanna customer: "My physiotherapist recommended the red light wrap. Since I've been wearing it, the pain has improved a great deal."

"When will I feel the first results?"

You put the wrap on. Within the first few minutes, you'll feel a gentle, even warmth in the joint — that's the improved circulation. Many customers report that their knee feels looser after the first 20-minute session.

For noticeable changes with chronic discomfort, we recommend 20 minutes daily, 3–5 days a week, over 2–4 weeks. A PubMed study on older patients with degenerative knee osteoarthritis documented a measurable reduction in pain and restricted movement over several weeks of narrowband light therapy.

The effect builds session by session: less stiffness in the morning, more capacity on the stairs, faster recovery after exercise. That's why the wrap becomes a routine for most customers, rather than a chore.

"Is this really backed by science — or just wellness marketing?"

Yes. Photobiomodulation — the process at work in the LumaTech™ Wrap — is well researched. PubMed lists over 4,000 scientific studies on this method, in journals such as The Lancet, Pain Research & Management, and the ScienceDirect database.

Specifically on the knee: a PubMed-published study (ID 1727843) examined older patients with degenerative knee osteoarthritis under narrowband light therapy. The result: a measurable reduction in pain and restricted movement. Further studies document that red and near-infrared light in combination can stimulate collagen and elastin formation, as well as reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

If you're sceptical: search PubMed for "photobiomodulation knee osteoarthritis". The full text of many studies is freely accessible. The complete list of references we cite can be found further down on this product page.

"Can I use the wrap alongside pain medication or physiotherapy?"

Yes — and it's actually one of the most common ways people use it. Red light therapy is non-invasive and has no known interactions with pain medication, creams, or other treatments.

Many users combine the wrap deliberately: after a physio session, in the evening following exercise, or in the morning before a longer walk. It doesn't replace your treatment plan — it complements it where your body needs time to repair.

If you're taking photosensitising medication (such as certain antibiotics or retinoids), are pregnant, or have an active cancer at the area you're treating: please speak with your GP first. For everyone else, daily use is considered safe.

"Why does the wrap cost £149 only?"

Because three things come together that you'd normally have to pay for separately.

The hardware. 40 dual-chip LEDs — 40 red (660 nm) plus 40 infrared (850 nm) chips working at the same time. Irradiance up to 105 mW/cm² in direct skin contact (level 3). 3000 mAh battery, USB-C charging, adjustable straps. Three brightness levels, three timers, automatic shut-off.

The versatility. You're not buying "a knee wrap." You're buying a device for three joints — knee, elbow, shoulder. One purchase, multiple uses.

The supply chain. Our founder Craig comes from the supply chain industry, not the wellness industry. He's built direct relationships with the component manufacturers and deliberately keeps the margin low. No middlemen. No standard wellness markup.

That's how the wrap stays affordable — without compromising on hardware.

"Is this complicated? I'm not particularly tech-savvy."

Charge it. Strap it around your knee. Switch it on. Choose the timer. Sit down. That's it.

The wrap has adjustable straps, three brightness levels (50%, 75%, 100%), three timer settings (10, 20, or 30 minutes), and switches off automatically. It charges with a normal USB-C cable — like your mobile.

Because the wrap is cordless, you can wear it while you watch television, work at your desk, or simply rest on the sofa. 20 minutes of treatment doesn't feel like therapy. It feels like a break.

"What if it doesn't work for me?"

Then you send it back. 14-day returns. No discussion, no reason needed.

We know you've probably already spent money on braces, creams, or devices that didn't deliver what they promised. That's why with us, you get a real return policy — and English-speaking support that actually replies when you have a question.

If €159 in one go is too much: you can pay for the wrap in instalments via Klarna.

What we can't promise: that your knee will be pain-free after a week. What we can promise: that you take zero risk in finding out.

"Which conditions is the wrap suitable for — and which not?"

Well suited for: knee pain caused by activity (running, cycling, stairs), early or established knee osteoarthritis, morning start-up pain, stiffness after sitting for long periods, muscle soreness after training, post-op knee rehabilitation, tennis elbow, shoulder tension.

Thanks to its flexible design, the wrap fits not just around your knee, but also around your elbow and shoulder — one device for three joints.

Not suitable for: acute fresh injuries with an open wound, undiagnosed pain, pregnancy (please ask your GP first), known light sensitivity, or photosensitising medication. With an active cancer or implants in the area being treated: please speak with your GP first.

"My doctor has recommended surgery. Does this still make sense?"

We understand. Anyone who has lived with knee pain for years, tried everything, and then heard the word "surgery" wants to consider every reasonable alternative before going under.

An honest answer first: the Koanna® Red Light Wrap is not a replacement for surgery. Structural damage — a worn meniscus, destroyed cartilage — is something it cannot repair.

What it can do: reduce inflammation, improve circulation, support collagen production, ease pain. A PubMed study on narrowband light therapy in degenerative knee osteoarthritis documents exactly these effects in older patients.

Many of our customers use the wrap to improve their mobility while they take their time considering a surgical decision — or to support healing and rehabilitation after an operation.

Heinz Peter, Koanna customer: "Twenty minutes a day after my run. With me being over 50, exactly what I need."

Speak with your GP or physiotherapist first — especially if a surgery date is in the diary. We're not selling you a miracle. We're giving you a tool your body hasn't had until now.

Strengthen your joints.
